Women Entrepreneurs who Mean Business Join the Big Idea ...

Novato, CA (PRWEB) October 2, 2008

The Big Idea Community (http://entrepreneur.meetup.com/1506/) is a dynamic environment, both online and in person, where women entrepreneurs learn from each other, share knowledge, and experience, expand creativity, and co-create something beyond the boundaries of individual imaginations. It was created in October 2007 by Robin Matuk, a solo entrepreneur struggling to launch her own company, who wanted to meet and learn from other like-minded, success-driven women. What started out as a small group of entrepreneurial women has grown to over 200 members!

?Participating in this group illustrates how it can be possible to build your own business, when you see others who are already doing it. You are forced to think outside the box and to receive different perspectives on your business idea. It?s also a great networking opportunity. And not the least of which, it?s a way for women to support each other in their various endeavors?, Marcia Basalla, Big Idea member since April 2008.

?I feel like I struck gold when I found the Big Idea Group! Something extraordinary happens when you get together with like minded, especially when the focus is on connecting with the truth, whatever that means to you. This group provides a very supportive environment for each person to feel good about where they?re at and to feel inspired to go forward and excel in what they love. I?m very impressed and I feel fortunate to be connected with you all through this group?, Christina Urso, Big Idea member since July 2008

The number of women owned businesses has increased by twice the rate of all other businesses in the past ten years. Between the years of 1997 and 2006, the number of women owned businesses has grown by 42% which is double that of other businesses at only 23%. According to Women?s Business Research, women business owners are significant players in the nation?s economy and their momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

Technology has been a contributing factor to the development of women-owned businesses. Many women have been able to start their own home-based businesses with only a computer, an internet connection, a cell phone and a fax machine. New technology has helped the way America conducts business by offering more choices and many women entrepreneurs have taken advantage of these choices.

Along with inspiring monthly meetings, The Big Idea Community now offers new opportunities to start and grow a business by providing online access to information packed articles, e-books, podcasts, videos, checklists, templates, and worksheets all focused on starting, running and promoting your business, subscriptions to newsletters, blogs, podcast recordings, along with coaching sessions to brainstorm ideas, fine tune your niche and more.

?I wanted a comfortable place where women can come to learn about being an entrepreneur without having to pay a huge entrance fee or experience the aggressive networking that can happen and to meet cool women who are friendly business people?. Robin states.
