Much of New Mexico was a under haze and smoke Saturday night because of the Whitewater-Baldy Fire.
Video and photos from around the state showed photos of gray or brown skies.
"We couldn't really go outside yesterday it was really thick, then I remembered last year how come I couldn't come out and it?s because of this," said an Albuquerque resident.
According to the website Air Now, the Air Quality Index showed hazardous measurements in the Metro area and especially in San Juan County.
"It looks pretty bad. It looks like it can harm a lot of people," another Albuquerque resident said.
State leaders warn staying indoors if possible, especially senior citizens, small children, and those with respiratory problems.
